Open Letter to Everyone who has visit my site:I want to thank everyone for the tremendous response I've received over the past 2 years. I've received well over 10,000 messages, inquiring about all sorts of things. The site is averaging about 50,000 hits per month now (not counting the G.N.B.A. hosted here). Unfortunately, my ambitions for this site have outstripped my grasp. I have become increasingly wrapped up in my professional life, and have seriously neglected to maintain the site. An increasing number of people have pointed this out to me, and I am really feeling guilty about the lofty promises contained herein. I am loath to do a slip-shod job, but my attempts at keeping quality have reduced my published output to virtually nill. In response to inquiries, I am upgrading the site. I have just completed a move to Mountain View, California from Boston, Massachusetts. I expect to have a high-speed connection to my home by the end of December. In the mean time, I will try to diligently work on the site offline, and have a completely revamped site in time for New Years. It will be completely redesigned (using quite a few good suggestions given to me by you, the gentle readers), have expanded material that I have worked on for the last year, and will contain a "wish-list" of projects I hope to work on, though I will NOT put up timetables again, until I am quite certain I can meet them. I will NOT be putting up beta stuff until I feel it's ready to go. Once again, I truly appologize to everyone who has waited so long for me to fulfill some of my promises. I will try to be much better next year. -Erik Trimble Keeper of the Codex webmaster and site maintainer Dec 3, 1998 |
